Long live the solo
The thing I am really enjoying most about jazz is how the songs don’t stay in one place for long. The melodies are constantly changing, the time is always shifting.
It is a refreshing break from the repetition of the typical rock or pop song, and it gives more space to the artist as instrumentalist. Where did the rock guitar solos go? Maybe rock needs a jazz infusion that is more paradigm shift than fusion.
